Slightly cooler weather,...nice

Alrighty then,...Chris and I rode the Saturday morning training ride route with the exception of a 6 mile loop. That put us in front of the ride so we rode pretty hard to keep them from catching us. Nothing noteworthy happened except that I had an average heart rate of 158 with almost 6 minutes above 170bpm. That was 31 miles.

This morning we rode down a new bike path from Lakeland to Bartow. Actually, neither end is finished so we had to ride about 2 miles down the highway. Why would they pave the middle section first? Seems like they would start at one end or the other. It was less hot than usual and I could feel the difference in my legs. Felt strong (comparatively) for the whole ride. Even did 10 miles in the 53-11 into the wind for some power training. 10 months off the bike didn't really kill my speed on flat ground with no wind very much but my power is all gone. The slightest hill or headwind and I really do feel it. We got in 62 miles. Tuesday through Friday I didn't ride but I think when you're out of shape, rest is critical. The lay off wasn't planned but beneficial.
